The Camarillo Council on Aging, a voluntary charitable organization started by the city of Camarillo, is seeking volunteers.

The agency strives to identify and support the needs of senior citizens in Camarillo and the vicinity, advise local government and other bodies on matters of particular concern to senior citizens and encourage seniors to participate in community life.

The council meets at 9:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Senior Center, 1605 Burnley St.

It is led by a five-member executive board, which establishes committees to address specific needs. Attendance at all council meetings is expected of the committee members.

Volunteers are needed for a nutrition and recreation committee, as a well as a fundraising committee charged with organizing and supervising projects established by the council.
