The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa has once again reported strong sales figures for the month of February.
Total February industry sales came in at 58 477 (now includes 5 888 AMH sales), 5.5% up on the corresponding month in 2006.
Ford reported strong sales figures of 6 426 units of which 3 093 were passenger vehicles and 3 333 units were commercial vehicles. The top selling passenger vehicle for Ford was once again the Ford Fiesta (834 units) while the Ford Bantam lead the brands commercial vehicle sales with 1 770 units.
"February is traditionally a difficult month as the number of selling days are somewhat reduced, add to that the high base we are coming off from January, the growth experienced this month is certainly impressive," explains Ford Motor Company's Jacques Brent.
